If you wanted to know how you can tease the same model twice in less than 24 hours, then you should watch and learn how Hyundai is doing business.
It was only yesterday when the Koreans revealed a teaser photo showing some of the styling cues their designers had in mind for the new Elantra, but today we get more teasers, although almost every image is nothing but a design sketch.
It's possible that Hyundai inspected their designers' drawing books or hard disk drives and say "hey, we could use some of these to tease the media and the public" but there's one picture that tells us how the Elantra will look like when viewed from the side.
We won't focus on the sketches because they will have nothing in common with how the production model looks like. However, we'll note that viewed from one side, the Elantra shows more Germanic styling cues than we'd usually expect.
Coupled with the front end design dominated by the large hexagonal grille paired with slim headlights, Elantra's new design philosophy might suggest the brand is aiming for modern flavor, leaving the rather traditional approach behind.
Regarding under-the-hood equipment, we expect the new Hyundai Elantra sedan to draw its strength from a 1.6-liter T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine, the same used by its crossover brother, the Tucson.
For the Elantra, the mill could offer somewhere around 175 horsepower directed towards the front axle by a six-speed automatic gearbox. Nonetheless, clients can opt for a newly-developed, efficiency-oriented seven-speed gearbox with a dual clutch.
However, keep in mind that's just the word on the street, since Hyundai's lips are sealed for the moment.
We also expect the sedan to make its debut at this year's Los Angeles Motor Show scheduled to take place in November, which means the first units should reach dealerships in March 2016.
