Now, as you might know, the current range is made of the Accent Sedan and Accent Hatchback. However, the Korean carmaker decided to rename the Accent GLS and Accent GS, which from now on, will be called Accent SE Sedan and Accent SE Hatchback, respectively, for the 2016 model year. Also, the Accent Hatchback can still be had with the Sport trim.

That being cleared out, let's see what the 2016 Hyundai Accent has in store for buyers.

For the Accent, it delivers 137 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, when equipped with the six-speed manual tranny, the engine is capable of returning EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of up to 27 mpg US in the city and up to 38 mpg on the highway.

Clients can also go for the optional six-speed automatic gearbox with Shiftronic technology.

VIsually-speaking, the 2016 Accent comes with 16-inch wheels on the SE Sedan equipped with the Style Package, while the front grille is now framed by projector headlight with LED accents, also available only for the Accent Sport Hatchback and Accent SE Sedan equipped with the Style Package.

Other amenities in the cabin include a leather-wrapped steering wheel along with a shift knob that "adds a premium touch to the cockpit drivers will enjoy".

Pricing starts at $14,745 MSRP for the Accent SE Sedan with the manual tranny, but those looking for better-equipped versions can pay as much as $17,495 MSRP for an Accent Sport Hatchback with the automatic gearbox. Prices don't include the freight charge of $825.
