Harley-Davidson starts to showcase the 2016 models, and the new Iron 883 is the first on the list. Already a sweet and popular bike, the Iron 883 adds more cool tech upgrades for the next model year, with the suspension being probably the most important new feature.
One of the cool details about the Iron 883's suspensions is the presence of nitrogen. The gas used in the new suspension system is more stable and provides better performance and a more constant feeling when riding on uneven surfaces.

The valves also come with 36mm pistons and have a new oil, while the compression and rebound can be set up effortlessly with the dedicated underseat wrench and the threaded collars.

Triple-rate springs for the fork are now standard

Progressive rate springs were aftermarket items until recently, but at Harley, they've become standard trim as far as the 2016 Iron 883 goes. Milwaukee loaded triple-rate springs in the cartridge forks for the bike, and together with Harley's "oil lock" feature, the new fork is said to reduce wheel hop under strong braking significantly.

The wheels are cast units, lightweight and with contrast cut accents, and can be, of course, upgraded with other rim choices H-D is offering ex-works.

For 2016, the Iron 883 adopted a raw, slightly more radical look, with blacked-out engine and exhausts, a revised, more comfortable tuck-and-roll seat, and four color choices, Olive Gold, Hard Candy Gold Flake, Charcoal Denim and Black Denim.

ABS brakes and the Smart Security ignition are optional, but the gear indicator on the inconspicuous tach dial is standard. The small LCD screen and lights are perfectly integrated with the Iron 883, adding to the minimalist lines.

The base price for the 2016 Iron 883 is $8,849, with the Hard Candy option being a tad more expensive. Iron 883 will cross the ocean into Europe, and we spotted it in Germany for €10,125 base price.
