Besides a revised model from a visual standpoint, GMC will equip the 2016 Sierra HD light-duty pickup truck with a variety of features. So let's take one gizmo at a time.

First of all, GMC says they will offer Active Steering Assist power steering on some double cab and crew cab models to make hauling and trailering easier, along with electronic controls that make sure road holding and stability on the highway are delivered regardless of the truck's loading state.

Since a workhorse like the GMC Sierra looks better with a trailer attached, customers will be able to add the Gooseneck/5th Wheel Trailering Prep Package to their shopping list, but only starting with the first quarter of 2016, when the bundle becomes available.

It will only be available for Duramax-equipped vehicles and should come in handy for those in need of pulling oversized trailers.

The package uses a frame-mounted hitch platform and tray that accommodates a gooseneck ball hitch or fifth-wheel hitch mounting brackets and includes a cargo bed-mounted trailer harness.

On the tech side, new additions include a GMC IntelliLink with a seven-inch-diagonal capacitive touchscreen with an improved processor and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions. Also, the same upgrade has been operated for the eight-inch-diagonal touchscreen.

Furthermore, high-intensity discharge (HID) projector-beam headlamps with GMC signature LED lighting are now offered as standard equipment.

Coming back to the pickup truck's refreshing treatment, we'll mention the 2016 GMC Sierra earned C-shaped LED daytime running lights integrated with the headlamps while the rear end saw the addition of the same styling solution for the taillights.

Other retouches include new a new fascia, bumpers, and fog lights. GMC promised the 2016 Sierra will reach dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2015, which is not that far away.
