If you've been longing for an S550 Mustang from the moment the car showed up on Detroit's floor, but you've decided to wait a bit in order to grab a better car, we have good news for you - the 2016 ponies are in.
The 2016MY Mustangs are now landing in dealerships across the country and we have the photos to prove it below. The first images show a GT, while the pics at the end of the gallery bring us inside a Mustang Ecoboost Convertible.
Each of the two sets highlights some of the most important features that are aimed at making the 2016 model a better car, as we stated above.
However, when it comes to the hood-mounted turn signals of the GT, the opinions seem to be split. The pics come from the Mustang6G forums and while some members are happy with the new signals, others don't like the idea of having smaller heat extractors - the position of the signals means the hood air vents are now about half the size of those fitted to 2015 Mustangs.
Jumping inside the Convertible, we notice a big leap in terms of infotainment, namely the Sync 3. Compared to Sync 2, the new system simplifies the experience. It brings a less cluttered home screen, which also means bigger fonts.
Aside from offering more intuitive menus that allow you to get used to the system faster, Sync 3 offers another advantage - responsiveness. For instance, while Sync keeps the map on the left (default position), you can double tap, an action the system will easily perform, and enter the fullscreen mode.
We detailed the small updates brought by the 2016MY back in April, but there's more to the new model year than that. For one thing, you can now choose between a host of packages. There's the Pony Package, available for the EcoBoost Premium, the California Special, which can be had on the GT Premium, as well as the Black Accent, which goes to the Mustang GT.
Those who love going fast with the wind in their hair can now order the GT Convertible with a Performance Package, which makes the 6-speed manual mandatory.
Without the slightest trace of doubt, the icing on this pony cake has a VooDoo aroma - the 2016 model year also means the Shelby models enter their complete stage of production.
