2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Sounds Like a Racecar on the Nurburgring

While the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is working up a sweat at the Blue Oval gym in order to be prepared for its match with the already revealed 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, big things are also happening in Naturally Aspirated Ford Land. We’re talking 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350 here and it all has to do with the Nurburgring.

The Shelby GT350 recently went all SVT on the Green Hell, with the clip below showing just how wild this pony can be. The source of all the aural enjoyment going on in your head right now is, most likely, a reworked incarnation of the Mustang GT’s 5.0 Coyote V8.

Nonehtheless, the test prototype being manhandled on the Nordschleife is currently undergoing handling testing. The IRS (independent rear suspension) thing is not all that easy to tweak, you know?

It seems like we’re hearing the cries of undesteer and we didn’t see one inch of tail happiness, but we’re not worried. After all, this is prototype testing and it involves going on pathways we mortals may not comprehend.

What we do know is that the Shelby GT350 prototype talks to the ‘Ring via 19-inch front wheels and 20-inch rear units. There’s a Joker-like smile on this Ford’s fascia: the fog lights are gone and we get a deep chin spoiler. The side skirts, as well as the rear valance, with the massive quadruple exhaust tips are just as “get out of my way” as the front end aero works.

While Dodge chose the social media and easter egg teasing ahead of the Hellcat's launch, Ford’s Nurburgring game is just as painfully pleasureful, so we hope we get our hands on more details soon.
