There's still a small grain of salt that needs to be added here though. The info comes from a customer who has placed a deposit and claims he has received this from his dealer, as Mustang6G writes.
As we've been accustomed since Ford Performance swiped Detroit off its feet back in January, when the Blue Oval's running division introduced its new toys, the news is nothing short of brilliant.
The GT350R badge, which accompanies the 900A package, will set you back $47,870, to which you'll have to add the destination and delivery. For those of you who haven't been following the financial side of the modern muscle car war, we'll mention the GT350 is less than $2,000 away from a 2015 Mustang GT with the Track and the Tech goodies added.
As for the track-tearing Shelby GT350R, this starts at $61,370 and is listed as package 920A. Sure, we still don't know the exact output data of the pair, so we can't talk about the exact bang for buck, but we're certain the value can put a smile on your face. Perhaps we'll stick to the bang for the track.
The Shelbys are not without their options and you can see the list in the leaked images below.
As for the Mopar rivalry, none of the Challenger models can be considered a soldier in this track war for the moment, despite the rich 2015 bouquet.

On paper, the Shelby GT350/R has only one competitor that comes close enough to the notion of a track-trained muscle car: the Camaro Z/28. Just yesterday we were talking about a pricing cut for the GM muscle machine, so, as much as we love the Z/28's 7-liter V8, the Mustang isn't exactly threatened here.
