With cars such as the 2016 Ford Focus RS, it's only a matter of time until hooning power falls into the wrong hands. Case in point with the Frozen White example in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, which marks the hot hatch's... street racing debut.
While the video doesn't provide the most in-depth look at the illegal racing phenomenon, it still shows the Mk III Focus RS going up against an S550 Mustang GT (obviously) and playing with a 370Z.
While the Focus seen here was (still) in stock form, the muscle car came with a pair of mods, namely a JLT air intake and a muffler delete. As it usually happens during open-road brawls such as the one we have here, the pair of Fords went for a rolling start.
Not only did this cancel the all-wheel-drive advantage of the manic hatchback, but it also meant the hefty weight of the Focus, which is partially owed to the AWD system, worked against it throughout the race.
While the 'Stang was used as the camera car, those attending the shenanigan explained the Focus RS driver was the one doing the honking game that allowed the race to kick off.
Speaking of 2016 Focus RS adventures that are more or less orthodox, we'll remind you the tuning world is currently working overtime to deliver kits for the Blue Oval's compact go-fast machines.
And while examples packing anywhere between 350 (the stock crank output) and 400 ponies are already out there, we're waiting for tuners such as Illinois-based AMS Performance or California-based Mountune (the British specialist's US division) to take this bad boy past the 400 hp mark.
Fortunately, if we take into account the reworked Mustang EcoBoost heart of the Focus RS, we probably won't be kept waiting for too long.
