2016 Focus RS Becomes a Taxi in Norway, Currently the Country's Only Mk III RS

We'd be tempted to say that, unlike high-octane police cars, fast taxis rarely show up, but this only amplifies the drama of such an event. Case in point with the 2016 Ford Focus RS in the image below.

While certain go-fast machine drivers simply like to add a taxi sign for trolling purposes (here's a Porsche Cayman GT4 fake taxi example), the Focus RS cab we have here is as real as they get.

Interestingly, this also happens to be the country's only Mk III Focus RS. And while this could raise questions about people keeping track of the car and this leading to an awful resale value, we have a feeling the owner won't be willing to get rid of his Blue Oval machine too soon.

The driver, Evald Jåstad, has been in the business for years, and decided his motoring life needed a change. As we found out from nrk.no (Norwegian) via Reddit, the feedback from the customers mostly depends on their age.

While the young ones obviously appreciate the 350 horses of the hot hatch, a part of the elderly clientele has apparently pointed out the access to the cabin could be more facile (not that the RS badge would change this aspect of the Focus).

Sure, the Focus doesn't pack the most generous luggage compartment in its class, but, if you ask us, the all-wheel-drive experience is worth it. For one thing, this would make for one hell of a definition switch between a drift taxi and an actual taxi that takes one from A to B.

For one thing, we felt like making such compromises when we needed a cab during a trip to Austria and we came across a Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG taxi. And that wasn't even the fastest taxi in that part of the world - as a coincidence, the Focus RS driver said the same thing about his taxi.
