Exactly one week ago, we brought you a set of spyshots showing the upcoming Fiat 500 facelift in both hatchback and convertible guises but recently carparazzi spotted the same two test mules out and about in the sun.
You could say summer forced the two Fiat 500 test prototypes out of the underground parking lot they were hiding, but we're blaming the out-in-the-sun session on engineers who want to apply the final technical touches before the invigorated Cinquecento bows in Frankfurt later this year.
We're still unlucky because the two models weren't able to shake off the kaleidoscopic camouflage covering their entire body, but we have a clue of what to expect from the Fiat 500 facelift.
In terms of exterior design, be prepared to see lines and shapes borrowed from the overweight version of the 500, the 500X crossover, with direct reference to bumpers, headlights and fog lights. Also, new color options and probably a new batch of redesigned wheels will be introduced, to go hand in hand with the Fiat 500's prêt-à-porter charm.
Just as in the previous set of spyshots, the dashboard is hidden by a black cover. Even so, don't expect the Fiat 500 to change its inside appearance too much, as we'll probably only see some button rearrangements at most.
Since the Fiat 500 has been around for like eight years now, we would expect to see a new model coming up, but Fiat insists on facelifting the Cinquecento, maybe in an attempt to evade development costs. In any case, we'll see the car later this year in Frankfurt, and we'll be able to find out more info when that time comes.
