However, before we move on to talk about the track-savvy snake being used for straight line shenanigans, we want to explain the two main reasons for which the ACR is an incredibly rare sight at such events.

First of all, the extreme aero of the ACR means this will obviously be outperformed by the more affordable Viper TA - and yes, we can say the same about the TA and the "standard" Viper.

Then there's the launch issue. Vipers are notoriously difficult to get off the line and while one can master the proper technique for such adventures, repeated maximum attack take-offs will bring both car and driver out of their comfort zone.

Well, the guy behind the wheel of the 2016 VIper ACR in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page would have none of that - once the man decided he would bring his circuit-friendly supercar to Shift-S3ctor's California Airstrip Attack event, things went pretty much Metallica (read: Nothing Else Matters).

Nevertheless, since the guy was well aware of the problems mentioned above, he handled both using his overly strong determination to deliver half-mile trap speeds as great as possible.

For one thing, the Dodge had to temporarily give up its massive wing, hence the profile of the car visible in the clip. As for the launches, the driver simply went all out, showing no mercy for the otherwise sturdy clutch of the V10 speed behemoth.

And while the video doesn't show us the velocity hit by this manhandled ACR, the tire-smoking launches are worthy of your undivided attention. And, as you can imagine, the aural side of this extreme sprinting episode is on the house.
