Just two days ago this editor was wandering the high seas of the world wide web when a curious rendering of the rumored 2016 Dodge Viper ACR caught his eye. That rendering was created out of sheer imagination according to a teaser shot depicting a white background, a black stripe and a red stripe.
And guess what? Dodge has finally revealed that very model in concept guise, further announcing it will headline its array of 2014 SEMA show vehicles. Just as we anticipated, the so-called Dodge Viper ACR Concept differentiates itself from the normal V10-powered American brute with an aggressive body kit specially developed to provide a lot of downforce.

Of course, highlight aesthetic add-ons come in the form of the humongous rear wing and carbon fiber splitter at the front. Dodge says the ACR was in development in the wind tunnel for a great amount of time to get the aero balance between the front splitter and wing just right. In addition to those two, hood heat extractors and red-black-white offset stripes further beautify this track-focused snake.

As for other go-faster bits and bobs, there's 19-inch wheels painted satin black and 15.4-inch six-piston carbon ceramic brakes from Brembo, as well as brake and differential cooling ducts. Step inside and the Viper ACR Concept shows you how lightweight is done. Things are rather spartan in terms of cabin features: the radio, carpets and NVH treatments were removed in order to save a few precious pounds.

Furthermore, there's carbon fiber literally everywhere except for the Alcantara suede leather that envelops the steering wheel. No words on horsepower though, but still, it's easy to foresee this concept enter production sometime next year as a 2016 model year, tailored for weekend track warriors.

In addition to this super cool Viper, Chrysler prepared a great number of Mopar-ized vehicles such as the Dodge Charger R/T Mopar Concept, Dodge Challenger T/A Concept and weirder candidates such as the Chrysler 200S Mopar, Fiat 500L Custom and a thing dubbed Ram ProMaster Hospitality Van. Further details on the Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles SEMA 2014 showcars can be found in the release below.
