2016 Dodge Challenger Turns Burnouts into Art in Latest Ad

Dodge has been riding the advertising wave for a few years now, with the automaker releasing one top notch commercial after another. And while Dodge's latest effort of this kind might be an ad that's just 15 seconds long, the badassery we've gotten used to works extremely well here.

We don't want to ruin the fun of the ad by throwing spoilers at you, so we'll only mention a Dodge Challenger and burning rubber are the two main elements of this video.

Truth be told, the Challenger does deserve a small medal and there are multiple reasons for that. For one thing, you don't necessarily need a Hellcat to deliver a cool ad, as you'll notice below.

Then there's the veteran status of the thing. While the Challenger is aging and was based on an already-old Mercedes-Benz platform to start with, its two main enemies have tons of fresh assets to brag about.

Heck, the Mustang's IRS (independent rear suspension) now seems so normal we feel it's been here for quite some time and Ford's offering remains the most affordable in its class. The downside? The Mustang GT doesn't quite feel that special, so you'll need a Shelby GT350 if you're looking for serious kicks.

When it comes to the 2016 Camaro, the Corvette heart of the SS model has brought tons of attention to the muscle car. For one thing, the aftermarket side of the industry seems to have built a temple for the Camaro SS - within three months of the first deliveries, the Chevy had already been gifted with all three major power adders (it received a supercharger, a twin-turbo kit, as well as nitrous). Factor in the new platform, which sheds weight to deliver agility, and you end up with a muscle car that handles like a sportscar. Oh, and let's not forget the ZL1 is getting closer and closer to landing in dealerships.

Nevertheless, even without the Camaro's all-round performance or the Mustang's insane-sounding flat-plane crankshaft V8, the Dodge Challenger manages to deliver the kind of All-American experience that fascinates, feeling muscle-organic in an era when electronics threaten to ruin all the fun. And while we applaud the Mopar machine, we're inviting you to hit the "play" button below.
