The Challenger never sold as well as the Camaro or Mustang, yet the Mopar machine enjoyed an astounding 2015 model year in terms of sales. For the 2016 Dodge Challenger, the order banks open on August 13th and sales launch on September 1st, with production slated to commence on September 21st.
The 2016 model year lineup is similar to that of the 2015 Dodge Challenger, comprising of the following flavors: SXT 3.6, SXT Plus 3.6, R/T 5.7, R/T Shaker 5.7, R/T Plus 5.7, R/T Plus Shaker 5.7, R/T Scat Pack 6.4, R/T Scat Pack Shaker 392, SRT Premium 6.4, and the awe-inspiring 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat 6.2.

New for 2016 is the Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system. The 8.4-inch display now boasts improved processing power and graphics, a vehicle user guide, Siri Eyes Free for iPhone users, and a Sirius XM Tune Start feature. If you plan to buy an SXT or R/T, Dodge will offer you with the possibility of opting for a Blacktop Appearance Group visual pack. As standard, the 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat comes with ultra-premium Laguna Leather seats.

For the Scat Pack in R/T and 392 forms, Dodge offers premium cloth performance seats with Ballistic II inserts, Black and Ruby Red Nappa leather seats with Alcantara suede inserts, and Black Nappa leather seats with Alcantara suede inserts. Performance-wise, nothing has changed with the 2016MY. However, the exterior color palette adds Plum Crazy Pearl and Go Mango.

If you're not willing to go Plum Crazy Pearl (pictured, also available for the 2016 Dodge Charger) or Go Mango, all is not lost. Dodge offers its Challenger customers with an extensive array of finishes, including B5 Blue Pearl Coat, TorRed Clear Coat, Redline Tri-Coat Pearl, Pitch Black, Maximum Steel Metallic (same as the Ram 1500's color), Jazz Blue Pearl, Sublime Green, Ivory Tri-Coat Pearl, Granite Crystal Metallic, Bright White, and Billet Metallic. Don't know about you, but Plum Crazy Pearl is super cool.
