Rumors about the C7-based Z06 (Z07?) and ZR1 high-performance Corvettes have been flying around since the seventh-generation sportscar was unveiled back in January, but all we got so far is that they’ll deliver more power than its predecessors. Which is no shocking news...
The souped-up mill is supposed to be a supercharged version of the 6.2-liter LT1 V8 found in the standard Corvette Stingray with power ratings estimated between 675 and 700 HP. While actual details are still unknown, a couple of photos that surfaced the Internet recently claim to show the ZR1’s new unit.
We’re talking about an LT1-style, Gen V Chevrolet small block with an LSA/LS9-style pulley that was photographed by a GM insider who says this is the real deal. We do, however, advise you to take it with a grain of salt, but stick around as more details should be uncovered soon.
