With production of the fifth-gen Camaro slated to end this fall, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is all the rave nowadays. In this regard, the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant was infused with a $174 million investment for a new stamping facility. Yup, the new pony won’t be made at the GM Oshawa plant.
Before the Lansing investment was announced, voices in the industry hinted at a shift of production from Canada to the US, more specifically the same facility that assembles the Cadillac ATS, CTS and Vseries models. Regarding the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, chazcron from the Camaro6 forum returned with a new 3D animation of the upcoming pony.

In our last 2016 Camaro story we covered his latest pixel wizardry of the long-awaited model, but now he returned with a walkaround animation of the GM sportscar, which adds “a little more polish here.. placeholder headlights, fog lights and taillights.” The daytime running lights are really wicked, but be advised the headlight and taillight clusters design are products of imagination, so refrain from hating.

Visual details such as the shape of the radiator grille, air intakes, vents in the bonnet, every curvature, rear bumper and subtle decklid spoiler are more or less what you’ll get on the production-ready 2016 Camaro, minus the radio antenna which looks remarkably similar to that of the outgoing model year.

As a brief reminder, there’s a lot to look forward to under the Transformers 4 Bumblebee-inspired skin. An all-new platform shared with the Cadillac ATS, tweaked V6 and vee eight powerplants, as well as a 272-plus horsepower and 295-plus lb-ft (400+ Nm) 2-liter turbocharged engine. Last but not least, the Porsche PDK-rivaling Hydra-Matic 8L90 eight-speed automatic is also something to look forward to.
