Slated to be fully unveiled on May 16th in Detroit Motor City, the sixth-gen Chevrolet Camaro is almost ready to get back in the pony car race. As expected, the #CamaroSix teasing game has only begun to unfold.
Wait, scrap that. The golden bowtie brand just offered a taste of the 6.2-liter small-block LT1 V8’s rumble and a heavily-camouflaged 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS in a video teaser. Dear Chevy, we know what’s what since last year from spy shots and videos taken by the carparazzi on the grueling Nurburgring.
Your chevrolet.com/2016-camaro/ isn’t helping either. Similarly useless is Chevrolet's description about the 2016 Camaro: "Its soul is legendary. Its DNA remains pure. But every piece of #CamaroSix will be refined in the name of performance."
Those 12 teaser pictures featured on the microsite are a pain to understand as well, but thankfully, Photoshop came to the rescue with light adjustments and hipster-grade color filters. I’m no PS wizard and I’m not even on Instagram, so excuse my amateur-ish talent at pixel editing.
As far as we can tell, left to right we are offered with a transmission tunnel, a throttle body of whatever engine available (2.0 turbo, 3.6 V6, 6.2 LT1 V8), the dashboard’s support structure, the brake rotor, caliper and brake disc, C7 Corvette Z06-style alloy wheel, an X-pipe exhaust system, manifold/header, the infamous rear spoiler, a part of the bonnet, the plastic mesh grille of what appears to be an air intake and finally, the sloping roofline of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro.
If you identify a detail that we’ve missed, drop us a comment.
