2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS Looks Fab in Garnet Red Tintcoat

At this year’s edition of the Camaro Superfest, enthusiasts of the all-American breed came to Riverside Park in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to share their mutual passion for all things Camaro. General Motors also jumped on the bandwagon, displaying a fab 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS wearing Garnet Red Tintcoat.

Photographed by MShafer of the Camaro6 forum, the muscle car at hand is proper eye candy from every angle you look at the thing. We agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and, to our eyes, the #CamaroSix is a winning design. Look at how angular this generation is, as well as the 20-inch Bright Silver aluminum wheels that are standard on the SS.

The rollers contrast remarkably well with paint code G7E, more formally known as Garnet Red Tintcoat. This hue, G7D (Bright Yellow), and GB8 (Mosaic Black Metallic), are the only “extra-cost color” options from a palette that features 10 finishes. The horizontal LED daytime running lights, black vents in the hood, boot spoiler, and quad tailpipes are other SS-exclusive traits.

Mind you, four exhaust outlets can become reality only if you pay extra for the optional dual-mode exhaust system. Thanks to electronically controlled valves, this system can bypass the mufflers under hard acceleration and let the gnarling LT1 V8 howl free. With 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft (617 Nm) on tap, we’re betting a tenner that most customers will go dual-mode exhaust to hear the small-block's howl better.

This editor still isn’t sure about the limited visibility of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro’s glasshouse or the design of the taillamp cluster. At the end of the day, these two discontents are not enough to spoil the appeal of the all-new Camaro. Speaking of which, we're estimating that pricing and order banks for the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro are go starting from September, with production expected to start in October.
