For the sixth generation of Chevrolet’s most popular sports car, the golden bowtie employed all the know-how and resources available to make the 2016 model year Camaro a tough act to follow. The all-new pony recently received a “playbook,” showcasing all those little bits and bobs that make up the 2016 Camaro.
Vice president of Chevrolet, Brian Sweeney, sets the mood with: “the bar gets raised to unimaginable new heights.” When you look at the red, white and blue 2016 Chevrolet Camaro front fender shield, it’s likely that the previously mentioned isn’t a mere marketing bluff. After all, the 455 horsepower SS is more potent and probably lighter than the 2015 Ford Mustang GT.

Throughout the 15-page 2016 Camaro playbook you can peer through in the adjacent photo gallery, there are a number of things utmost important to highlight. At launch, the #CamaroSix will be available in 1LT, 2LT, 1SS and 2SS trims. The LTs can be enhanced with the RS Appearance Package, adding 20-inch wheels over the standard 18-inch rims, HID headlights and LED taillights, unique grilles and a decklid spoiler.

The SS trim levels come as standard with all of those, on top of which Chevy adds a unique front fascia and vented hood, as well as a stanchion spoiler. The way you can differentiate a Camaro LT with or without the RS Appearance Package from the Camaro SS is the LED daytime running lights: vertical units for the LT/RS, horizontal units for the LT1 6.2L V8-powered Camaro SS.

At launch, five wheel designs will be available, joined by 10 exterior finishes. There’s a lot more to discover about the new pony on the block, but before you take your time reading the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro playbook, you might want to know that ordering begins this fall. 2016 Chevrolet Camaro V6 and V8 production begins in the fourth quarter of the year, with 2-liter turbo production slated for Q1 2016.
