UPDATE: 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Exposed, It’s Got a Butch Front Fascia Design

Last year saw Ford Motor Company and the Fiat-Chrysler consortium reignite the pony and muscle car wars. At the top of the game sits the 2015 Ford Mustang in 2016 Shelby GT350 format and the 707 horsepower 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, which is jolly and all, but the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is kinda late to the party. Well, not too late anyway.

Over the past months, various tidbits surfaced on the Internet regarding the heavily-awaited 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, the sixth generation model. After numerous pedal-to-the-metal and normal traffic conditions testing on the Green Hell in Germany and in the United States, the golden bowtie manufacturer is getting closer and closer to the Camaro’s grand unveiling.

Until yesterday, when GM teased us with the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, E2XX platform and all, it was believed that the 2016 Camaro will debut in April at the New York Auto Show. Still, that plan doesn’t seem realistic considering that NYIAS is the place of unveiling for the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu and 2016 Cadillac CT6.

From our point of view, this grandstand play of two very important models means that the all-new Chevrolet Camaro will be shown at a later date, as late as this summer. Then again, we may also get a surprise unveiling of the 2016 Camaro in concept format at New York, but who really knows what's cooking at GM HQ? Still, just look at the teaser pic above, shared on Camaro6 by forum member Blu Ray.

Looks pretty production-ready, doesn’t it? With LED strips of daytime running lights positioned in the air intakes below the (potentially LED halo ring-less) headlights, a sharp-looking mouth, 2 vents in the bonnet and a not-so-subtle rear wing, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is simply exuberating the need for hoonage.

How do you like the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, muscly side profile, sharp front fascia and all? And how do you like the other four all-new Chevrolet models (Spark, Volt, Cruze, Malibu) that will go on sale later in 2015?

UPDATE: the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will debut at the Indy 500 in May, autoevolution's source suggests.

UPDATE 2: the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS has been unleashed on video.
