Many voices, enthusiasts and automotive outlets, suggest that the golden bowtie manufacturer may surprise us at next week’s Detroit Auto Show with an unannounced unveiling of the sixth-generation ‘Maro. Naturally, we recommend to take this rumor with the a (hefty) grain of salt for very obvious reasons.
One thing is certain though - the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will make its official debut late this year, with production slated to start in the fall of 2015. As for the facility which will manufacture the new model, the Oshawa plant will drop production after the last gen-five vehicle rolls off the assembly line.

Production will be moved at General Motors’ Lansing Grand River Assembly, where the Detroit automaker also assembles various Cadillac models, including the performance-oriented V-series. After a helluva lot of spy shots nabbed by the carparazzi, we can confirm to you that a soft top convertible is also in the making. It was bound to happen though.

Furthermore, engineers also work on a powertrain option that utilizes GM’s 2.0L turbocharged four-pot, pushing 272 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) to the Cadillac ATS' rear wheels. With the 2.3 turbo’d 2015 Mustang EcoBoost around, it’s no wonder why the V6 and V8 offerings will be joined by a force-fed four-cylinder engine. The 2015 Challenger is the only model in the segment that hasn't gone turbo yet.

If you’re a recurring reader of our website, you may remember that we arduously cover the 2016 ‘Maro due to the importance the model has in the extremely competitive and refreshed segment.
Camaro6 forum member chazcron returned with yet another pixel-laden masterpiece of the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro and would you look at how menacing it looks dressed in stealthy midnight black?

Only time will tell if the production-ready vehicle will resemble this rendering. Mind you, chazcron used spy photos of pre-production test mules to come up with this material, so keep those fingers crossed there won’t be too many visual differences between these renderings and the real 2016 Chevy Camaro.
