The Chevrolet Camaro is enjoying a lot of attention from customers, with the pony car outselling the Ford Mustang for the past two years, and Chevy wants to make sure that this trend is kept when it launches a new generation of the vehicle in late 2015.
Chief engineer Al Oppenheiser recently talked to AutoNews, offering certain details about the future sixth-generation of the Camaro. We’ll start with the design - Chevy doesn’t want to change the styling too much. However, the company will introduce certain elements that will make the vehicle look even meaner.

“We always have to stay fresh and ahead. We do not want to lose the fact that we have nearly 40 percent of the market,” he was quoted as saying by the aforementioned source.

As for the tech side of the story, Oppenheiser admitted that the car has received critics for being too heavy. Moving to the engine bay, the engineer explained that the company is taking all the possibilities into consideration, so we could even be looking at a four-cylinder turbo model in the range.
