2016 Can-Am Spyder F3-S Triple Black Special Series To Be Unveiled at Sturgis

Can-Am introduces a new Spyder F3 at Sturgis this August, in the shape of a limited edition trike. Dubbed Triple Black Special Series, this Spyder F3 will stand out from the crowd thanks to its color scheme and the accessories Can-Am plans to equip it with.

In case "Triple Black" sounds somewhat familiar, you've most likely heard about it earlier in July, when BMW revealed their R1200GS TripleBlack. Like the BMW, the Can-Am delivers a special edition livery based on three types of black paint, combining matte and glossy accents, different graphics from the stock units and a tinted low windshield.

Apart from the livery, the 2016 Can-Am Spyder F3-S Triple Black Special Series will be fairly easy to recognize because its massive, eye-candy black chrome rims, one treat we just don't get to see too often, even though we'd surely love to.Nothing changed to the F3 on the tech side
On the tech side, the F3 remains unchanged, sporting the new 1,330cc Rotax three-cylinder engine that produces 115 hp @ 7,250 rpm and 96 lb-ft (130.1 Nm) at 5,000 revs.

Can-Am mentions that the new trike will be equipped with the SE-6 transmission. This means a semi-automatic 6-speed gearbox with reverse, so the Special Series drops the manual one the F3 and F3-S can be ordered with.

We know for sure that this Spyder retains all the cool features of the base version, including ABS, stability control, the UFit adjustable pegs and bars, and all the bells and whistles that come with the S-trim (suede seat, cruise control, Fox shocks, LED lights in the grille, and all).

The price of the 2016 Can-Am Spyder F3-S Triple Black Special Series will only be announced in September this year, with the machine on display in downtown Sturgis between Main and Lazelle streets. It is scheduled to reach the dealerships in January 2016.
