Camaro6 forum’s chazcron is a pixel wizard we’ve covered time and time again for his 2016 Camaro renderings. This time around, the forum member and ‘Maro enthusiast returned with 3D models of the most anticipated pony car of the moment.
Chazcron remained faithful to the size and curvatures of the test mules caught on camera by the carparazzi. As you can see in the photo gallery below, the pixel artist didn’t forget the duo of “nostrils” in the bonnet, aggressive front end, the purported 2016 model year headlights and mirrors, joined by a low-slung roofline.

In digital format and without a square inch of camo to mask the beautiful visual treats, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is shaping up to be one thoroughly enticing pony.

I don’t know about your preferences, but this toned down Bumblebee lookalike hits my sweet spot as it masterfully combines the best of the fifth-gen Camaro with the Gen 6’s more modern hoo-hah.

Speaking of modern stuff, the LS3 small-block V8 is now history. For the sixth-gen, Chevy chose the LT1 small-block V8 from the C7 Corvette Stingray, albeit it’s not known if it will produce nigh on 460 ponies. In addition to this enhancement, the GM Alpha platform is capable of adopting the 3.6-liter LGX V6 that we’ve first seen on the 2016 Cadillac CT6 flagship sedan.

In the Caddy’s case, the naturally aspirated vee-six is rated an SAE-certified 335 HP (250 kW) and 284 lb-ft (385 Nm) of torque and it’s mated to a Hydra-Matic 8L45 8-speed automatic transmission. Essentially, we understand that the 8L45 tranny is a smaller variant of the 8L90 unit of the 2015MY Chevrolet Corvette.

Last but not least, the lighter, better handling 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is rumored to pack a 2.0L turbo four-banger. Not much is known about its numbers, but we think that the horsepower figure won’t exceed 300. Some enthusiasts say that the Tremec TR-6070 7-speed manual will be offered as standard, but May 16th will tell if the Chevrolet Camaro is ready to drop its outgoing Tremec-6060 6-speed stick shift tranny.
