The 87th Academy Awards ceremony ended only a few hours ago and, just as everyone was expecting, Alejandro González Iñárritu got four Oscars for Birdman, including for Best Picture. I’ve seen that movie and I do recommend it if you want to be entertained in better way than watching Conan.
Movies are fun and all and the ceremony saw a few good-looking ladies on the red carpet, but it so happens that this is autoevolution, not IMDB, so let’s get moving with the automotive-related event that happened during this year’s edition of the Oscars.

Cadillac invested a heck of a lot of money to air an advert that invites you and me to “dare drive the world forward #DareGently.” I don’t know if the advertising agency’s boffins smoked a bowl when they made the pitch for this commercial, but I don’t get the feeling it fits the character of the all-new CT6 with its funky-looking headlights or the reborn Cadillac brand. It doesn't have that Detroit Motor City flavor, you know?

Then again, why use Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien, a classic French tune by Edith Piaf, to tease us with the better-than-XTS 2016 Cadillac CT6 flagship sedan? I understand that the “Je repars à zéro” line (which is the equivalent of "I start again from zero") is a sign engineers made the CT6 from a clean sheet of paper, but what was the matter with Bob Dylan or Chess Records’ finest - Muddy Waters, who was a big Caddy fan?

All in all, this rant has come to an end because Mr. de Nysschen has something to tell us. As we mentioned in our extensive coverage of the 2016 Cadillac CT6, the all-new, Detroit-made flaghsip sedan will debut on March 31st at the New York Auto Show, but this is just the beginning - Caddy prez Johan de Nysschen mentioned that "advanced plans are underway to introduce 8 all-new vehicles before the end of the decade."
