A recent Facebook post on the GM-owned carmaker's official account tells that "our brand-new show stand is ready to shatter expectations. See anything you like, fans?" Well, in the photograph attached, we can clearly tell that's the 2016 Buick Cascada rag top.
Two crossover vehicles are showcased underneath the rebranded-for-the-US Opel Cascada, one that's small and white and another that appears to be bigger and black. No pun intended. Compared to the Cascada, those two lack any visual details besides their shape.
This automatically begs the question: the 2015 Buick Encore and 2015 Buick Enclave mid-size crossover SUV are no secret to anyone at the moment, which makes us wonder if the long-awaited 2016 Buick Envision is the mysterious black-painted crossover.
According to recent reports citing sources close to General Motors, the all-new Buick Envision will debut at Detroit on January 12, after it was officially unveiled in China back in August, 2014. Whether General Motors will actually present us at NAIAS with the US specification Envision, fingers crossed and hope it happens.
Voices in the industry previously hinted that 2016 Buick Envision deliveries are slated for late 2015. To come as standard with a six-speed automatic gearbox, the Envision will be available with two 2-liter four-cylinder turbo engines, packing 200 HP and 206 lb-ft (280 Nm) and 260 HP and 267 lb-ft (363 Nm).
As for the 2016 Buick Cascada, we reported numerous times before that it won't differ too much from the Euro-spec Cascada minus the automaker's waterfall grille. The Cascada is believed to be offered in the US with only a turbocharged gasoline-fed engine (1.6 200 HP or 2.0 250 HP) mated to a six-speed automatic.
