2016 BMW X1 Gets Funny New Commercials Just in Time for Football Season

The first weekend of August was the last one without football until February 13, 2016. That includes NFL and College football as well as preseason and regular season matches. Quite neat if you’re a football fan and if you’re not, too bad.
BMW apparently knows that there are plenty of fans of the sport in the US and is now rolling out two new commercials for the brand new X1, one of them aiming directly at them.

You know how you get before every match, especially if it’s against a particular team. Everything has to be done right, and nothing is to be left out, not detail forgotten or superstition overlooked.

Hell, even I have a very precise ritual going before every match my favorite team plays, and I will not be swayed to do anything different, for the sake of every other fan out there. That’s exactly what one of these genius commercials is focusing on.

Four guys are all ready to go to the game but once they’re all settled inside the car, they remember that the seats had been changed from the last time when, presumably, their team won. Well, the guy behind the wheel doesn’t want to switch place though because he wants to drive the new X1. Yeah, as if anyone would risk their team losing for that...

The second commercial is funnier but this time, we’re discussing golf. Since I’m not a big fan of the sport, I can’t tell you when the next big tournament takes place by heart but I guess that wasn’t the aim of the ad.

Instead, I think that it was all meant to show us that you can easily fit golf clubs in the back without having to worry about it. Since all four guys are shown throwing their bags in the back, it’s safe to assume that’s the real goal here. You check them out and tell me if I’m wrong.
