BMW Motorrad has finally revealed two more neo-retro versions based on the R nineT platform - a cafe-styled Racer and a back-to-basics Pure model - both having many things in common with the previously-released Scrambler flavor.
We can start with a very obvious component, the front fork, which is standard both on the Racer and Pure, just as it goes on the Scrambler too. Four-pot Brembo brake calipers are also replacing the radial-mounted Monoblock ones from the original R nineT.

Both models also feature the modular tubular frame used on the Scrambler, which consists of a main front frame, a rear one and a removable passenger frame to allow for more customization.

The spoke wheels here have been ditched for 17-inch cast-alloy ones while the upswept 2-in-1 stainless steel exhaust has been retained from the Scrambler. However, the one on the Racer is polished while the Pure gets a brushed one.

In the power department, we find the same 1,170 cc air-cooled boxer -twin used throughout the range. It generates 110 hp and has been slightly altered to meet the new Euro 4 emissions limits. The mods include the exhaust, ECU mapping, and a larger catalytic converter.

Differences between the two new models can be seen in the details. Apart from the half-fairing on the Racer model and the unique graphics, the model also comes with two dashboard gauges (speedometer and rev counter) as well as clip-on bars.

The Pure model uses standard handlebar and only one gauge placed in the center. It is also available in non-metallic grey while the Racer only comes in the white and multi-colored red/dark blue/blue paint scheme proprietary to BMW Motorsport along with a silver frame.

BMW Motorrad hasn’t released prices yet, but we expect the models to be slightly cheaper than the original R nineT, especially the Pure version that is all about going back to basics.
