Starting with the upcoming motorsport season, the BMW teams involved in GT3 and GTE races will have a new weapon at their disposal. The BMW Z4 GT3 will be replaced by what we’re showing you here today, the M6 GT3 model.
Paying tribute to the original 3.0CSL race car that started the Motorsport division’s legacy, the M6 GT3 is featuring similar M stripes in all the right places. For example, the air intakes of the front bumper and the sides, the bonnet and even the top of the tailpipes in the back are flanked by the famous triple-stripe design.

Speaking of which, the entire car was reworked not only to improve aerodynamics, but also to comply with FIA demands in this regard. The front bumper now has an entirely different look with an add-on spoiler and a new configuration for intakes while the fenders have been widened, and the boot received a huge carbon fiber wing.

Leaving visual changes behind, the M6 GT3 brings a lot more to the table when you take a closer look. Compared to the road-going model it has lost over half a ton in weight, now tipping the scale at close to 1,300 kg (2,866 lbs). With the new 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 under its bonnet tuned to make around 500 HP, this is one beast you don’t want to annoy, be it on the track or not.

The driver’s seat was repositioned so that it’s as close to the center of the car as possible while the engine was also moved slightly inside the engine bay, for obvious engineering reasons.

The gearbox has been changed compared to the stock model that uses a 7-speed DCT unit with a 6-speed sequential one that will allow pilots to shift faster and easier.

Of course, these are only the highlights of the new GT3 car, and the last thing we need to emphasize here is the price tag that will start at €379,000.
