2016 BMW M3 Configurator Almost Online

Unlike it’s usually the case in Munich, the Germans from BMW decided to offer the current M3 a small facelift along with the new version of the 3 Series. We’re saying that’s unusual because typically M cars don’t change throughout production.
However, it’s a bit unfair to call this a facelift. That’s because the only change done to the M3 (that doesn’t apply to the M4 by the way) is limited to the taillights. Therefore, I guess we could call this a buttlift. We’re kidding, of course.

If you’re curious about what new stuff this update brings to the table, you can now configure your own 2016 M3 using a demo version of the configurator that’s usually available on the BMW USA website. Even though you can’t actually send your configuration to a dealer, you can still check out the colors, options and prices for each box ticked.

Other novelties for the M3 include (apart from the taillights) the reintroduction of Sakhir Orange as an optional pain (it was removed a while ago for some unknown reason) and the addition of the Smoked Topaz Metallic and Champagne Quarts Metallic paints that were not available before.

Overall, most configurations seem to show lower prices for cars fitted with the exact same options compared to the pre-facelift versions. However, this is still a beta configurator and things might need some more time to settle before working flawlessly. It’s still good in case you want to have a rough estimate of how much your dream M3 would cost.
