BMW continues the testing of their new M235i Racing model on the Nurburgring, the place where the customer racing car will be doing its thing later on. After catching up with it last week, this time our spy photographers got really close and even snapped a couple of pics of the interior or... what’s left of it anyway.
As expected, the M235i prepared for racing is lacking basic comfort features such as upholstery or rear seats, being focused exclusively on performance and shedding as much weight as possible.

Of course, that is a little offset by the addition of a roll cage but since drivers will regularly push these cars to the absolute limit, it’s good to know that there’s some serious safety included in the package.

As far as aerodynamics and looks go, no big changes have taken place excluding, of course, the big wing at the back. As a matter of fact, our photographers told us that the shots were taken at the Ring during training for the VLN Championship.

The mechanics you see in the photos have been sent over by BMW to help out their customer, Scheid Motorsport that has been rather successful in its conquest of the VLN with the M235i.

Under the bonnet could lie the replacement motor for the N55 unit used so far by the M Performance car. That means that all of these tests could be carried out to see how its B58 alternative performs. This could be a very valid possibility considering that pretty soon the N55 engines will be completely replaced by their newer B-family brothers, such as on the new 340i model and so on.

Other than that, we’re expecting the 333 HP output to be the same or marginally different on the new model, the same high-performance brakes to be used and the same brilliantly set up chassis to shine brightly. As for the price, we’ll just have to wait and see.
