As the world is waiting on the new BMW flagship some daredevils have the audacity to try and create various rendering of the new car, before any official information is disclosed.
Previous rumors stated that the new 7er will be lighter and, judging by what we've seen lately at BMW, they seem to be true. The new X5 is lighter and the i3 was already launched, made almost entirely out of CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced polymer).

Thanks to recent developments and research the new model will definitely come out with a wide array of new features. The LCI 5 Series for example is fitted with a package that will drive the car for you in traffic jams. From this to a full on self-drivable 7er the progress seems insignificant.

Furthermore, since the car will drop a significant amount of weight, it seems more and more plausible that it will be the first one to be available with a 2-liter engine, despite this idea seemed to be a sacrilege a while back.

As for the exterior design, that's why we're here. The one done by Larson for Autobild, shown below, seems to adopt the same front fascia as recent models, the one that has the headlights connected to the kidney grilles.

Whilst this is rather possible, we're hoping the new car to be more like the Gran Lusso Coupe, a car that is simply stunning both by looks and by presence.
