What a lucky week it was for our spy photographers as they stumbled upon a BMW F48 X1 prototype near the company’s HQ in Munich.
Since the car was doing some awkward tests, the guys quickly switched their cameras from photo mode to film mode and started recording.

In the video they sent us, we can obviously see the car doing some tests of the new FWD platform that will be used in building the future models. All those turns serve to a purpose as we’re sure the driver wasn’t drunk.

We think they were testing the turn radius of the new car, as the crossover will, most likely, be used inside a city, therefore will have to do such turns quite often.

As for the engine, we think this one could’ve been using a larger unit as it has 2 exhaust tips at the back, unlike other prototypes we’ve seen, using only 1.

The launch of the new model could happen in 2015, with production and deliveries starting in 2016.
