As you might’ve noticed on our front page, we recently had the chance to test drive one of BMW’s most recent models. Yes, we took the 2016 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe out for a spin and wrote a full review, noting the pros and cons that came with the facelift. However, we also took a couple of photos of it that can serve as Full HD Wallpapers for your devices.
Inside the city, it’s impossible to go undetected. It’s not enough that the car has a rather peculiar design, being a four-door version of a two-door coupe, it was also dressed in a rather expensive and rare paint: Frozen White Brilliant metallic. That translated into every eye on a radius of a mile turning around to get a glimpse of our ride.
Understandably so, might we add. The facelift brought along a sharper face, new headlights and an overall infusion of elegance. Luckily, the designers had a prompt base to work with, even if the proportions look of here and there.
Outside the city, the Gran Coupe attracts less attention as it will allow other participants in traffic to gaze at it for shorter periods of time. To be more precise: this thing is fast. Since the smallest engine in the range is the one from the 640i and that’s a 3-liter inline 6-cylinder unit making 320 HP and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, it’s easy to see why. We tested the 640d with a bi-turbo 3-liter diesel plant good for 313 HP and 630 Nm of torque.
Inside you get a grasp of what luxury means in BMW’s camp. The seats are sculpted and taken straight off the two-door coupe version, both up front and in the back. Our tester wore the new black/cognac brown Nappa leather combination that was exquisite.
Bottom line, the facelift works on the 6 Series Gran Coupe, not because it brought forward a lot of changes, but mostly due to the fact that it had a good foundation to work with. We told you all about it in our 2016 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe review, and that’s also where you’ll find plenty more full HD wallpapers.
