The Bavarian automaker mentions that the majority of 3 Series Gran Turismo customers are new to the brand, while China, Germany, and the United States of America are the biggest markets for the five-door liftback. Put next to the pre-facelift, the updated model is sportier, more modern, and brawnier, especially if the car wears the Estoril Blue paint finish.

The thing is, the Estoril Blue paint is available exclusively on the M Sport model. Customers who settle for the Sport Line or Luxury Line will have to settle for something else. On the upside, the standard equipment list is right on the money: LED headlights, LED front fog lamps, six airbags, keyless go, automatic climate control, high-resolution screen for the iDrive infotainment system, hands-free phone connectivity, Bluetooth media streaming, USB port, and leather on the steering wheel.

Under the hood, the 2016 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo boasts new and improved turbocharged engines. The range includes three gasoline drinkers that develop between 184 and 326 HP and five oil-chugging units that produce from 150 to 313 HP. The new or improved engines are up to 14 percent more fuel efficient than those available for the pre-facelift BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo.

Of course, it’s up to the customer to decide between rear-wheel- and xDrive all-wheel-drive. The 320i, 318d, and 320d variants of the Gran Turismo are matched to a six-speed manual as standard. The 330i, 340i, and 325d, on the other hand, are offered exclusively with the eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.

The 2016 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo facelift is slated to go on sale in Europe this summer, with deliveries set for September. Hence, the five-door liftback arrives two years ahead of the debut of the next-generation model. Check the release below for all the info currently available on this family-oriented 3 Series GT.
