2016 Audi RS Q3 Performance to Premiere at Geneva Motor Show, Priced at €61,000

Audi previously bestowed the performance treatment upon the RS 6 Avant and the RS 7 Sportback, but now it’s time for the 2016 Audi RS Q3 to follow suit. Although its official unveiling is in March at the Geneva Motor Show, the ordering books for the Audi RS Q3 performance are already open in Germany.

Priced at €61,000 (approximately $67,630 at current exchange rates), the Audi RS Q3 performance is €4,400 ($4,880) more expensive than the Audi RS Q3 sans the performance tag. For that little extra, Audi upped the output of the 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder motor to 367 PS and 465 Nm (343 lb-ft), 27 PS and 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) over the normal RS Q3. The RS Q3 performance’s output mirrors that of the 2.5 TFSI engine that animates the 2016 Audi RS3 Sportback hot hatch.

Because it can sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds, the Audi RS Q3 performance is a crossover SUV that outguns the old school Ferrari 355 from the 1990s and the howl of its 5-valve per cylinder 3.5-liter V8. As standard, the RS Q3 performance makes do with a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. Naturally, the RS Q3 performance also boasts quattro all-wheel-drive system as standard.

As is the case with every performance-branded model, the Audi RS Q3 performance is characterized by visual add-ons with matte titanium-like finish. The Audi Singleframe, lateral flaps in the air inlets, frame of the air inlet duct, trim strips of the side windows, roof rails, exterior mirror caps, upper edge of the diffuser, and the fins of the roof edge spoiler are all wearing the matte titanium finish.

The inside, on the other hand, is business as usual for an high-performance Audi. Gray faces, white dials, and red needles for the dial instruments are the name of the game. For those who want to add a little more specialness to the interior of the 2016 Audi RS Q3 performance, the RS performance design package includes inlays in carbon twill blue. Now who can say no to blue thread woven into carbon, huh?
