The Alfa Romeo Giulia is, all things considered, the renaissance of the distinguished Italian brand. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, on the other hand, is the fastest sedan to lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife, priding itself on a 7-minute and 39-second lap time.
That’s about to change on June 28, the day Porsche will reveal the second-generation Panamera. Still, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio packs a lot of go-faster goodies for just £59,000. In Germany, the biggest new car market in Europe, the high-performance sedan starts at €71,800. How does the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio compare to its biggest rivals, though?

The BMW M3, also known as the favorite high-performance sedan in this segment, starts from £56,605 or €72,600, respectively. As for the Mercedes-AMG C63 in S form, retail prices start from £67,450 or €84,549, respectively. As such, the Giulia Quadrifoglio is not the cheapest in its segment in the Albion, albeit it undercuts both of its rivals in Germany.

As expected, most of that money goes on what’s lurking under the hood. More specifically, a twin-turbocharged V6 developed with the help of the best name in the business: Ferrari. Thanks to 503 horsepower (510 PS) and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque, this family sedan with five seats accelerates to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds. In the twisties, the active aero splitter up front and the 50:50 weight distribution should help with tackling the most demanding roads.

As standard, the 2016 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio comes with a lots of carbon fiber inside and out, adaptive dampers, Pirelli P Zero Corsa AR rubber front and rear, bi-xenon projector headlights with adaptive forward lighting, rain sensing wipers, configurable driver information display cluster, and 3D satellite navigation for the 8.8-inch infotainment system. As for options, you shouldn't overlook essential goodies such as the Brembo-developed carbon ceramic brakes and carbon fiber Sparco racing seats.

On an ending note, did you know that the Alfa Romeo Giulia received a score of 98 percent for adult occupant protection in the latest round of Euro NCAP crash tests? Now that's a safe car, alright.
