The 2016 Acura NSX scored a massive victory for the entire EV and hybrid car scene during this year's Pikes Peak Hillclimb. With three cars entering the race, one of them won the Time Attack 2 class, while the other, an all-electric NSX, took second place in the Electric Modified class.
Now that the dust has settled on the carmaker's Pikes Peak wins (figuratively speaking, as the course is no covered in asphalt), we feel it's time to make the gas-electric score even.
So if Acura came up with a NSX powered by electron juice alone, the supercar also deserves to an all-combustion incarnation. And while we don't expect the company to deliver such a car anytime soon, some eccentric aficionado out there could troll green motoring fans by commissioning such a build.
Still, we can't hold our breath for such a project, so, with the purpose mentioned above in mind, we set out to find a way of achieving it. And the rendering you see here is our digital solution.
Coming from pixel artist Yasid Design, the image brings us a new-age NSX that mixes an obvious emphasis on the suck-squeeze-bang-blow part of its powertrain with the kind ofoversized rightsized aerodynamic elements they use at Pikes Peak.
To be more specific about the aerodynamic part, it all start up front, where the supercar's nose gets a whole new profile. The NSX has been gifted with a widebody kit that seems to fit its factory styling cues nicely, while the hefty wing at the back completes the scenery.
The final touch comes from the HRE wheels of the machine, which are shod in Pirelli P Zero rubber. And if you're impressed with the level of detail in this rendering, we'll remind you this is a treat the artist has accustomed us with.
