That's right, we have yet more photos of the A45 AMG facelift, the worst kept secret in the hot hatch segment. We've literally shown you about a hundred images or videos or this car, but these are different.
The fact that it's dressed in brown indicates that this is a production car, and the debut is imminent. It could even be part of the press fleet when the covers come off this summer.
We're not 100% sure what color this is. In theory, it's the same Oriental Brown you can order on any A, B, CLA and GLA-Class. But in these photos, it looks a bit more like the Dolomite Brown offered on the E-Class.
The A45 AMG's nip and tuck obviously consists of brand new front and rear bumpers, headlights, and taillights. They are the only bits hidden on this test prototype, and we expect everything will look the same as on the C63.
A power bump for the 2.0-liter turbocharged four should take us from 360 horses to 380 PS. However, the most recent reports coming from Germany indicate an even more hardcore version is on its way.
The reason appears to be Volkswagen, the German company which has promised to put the Golf R400 concept into production with as much as 420 PS. We don't know yet how they plan to match the mighty Mitsubishi Evo FQ 400, but Mercedes is understandably reluctant to give up the crown it worked so hard for.
When you consider how small and weird the previous generation A-Class looked, it's unbelievable that this generation might pack as much power as the 5.5-liter AMG V8 used to. However, the Hungary-made W176 model has been a resounding success story.
