Volkswagen has revealed a new Caddy commercial vehicle ahead of its debut later in 2015. The 4th generation mode is actually a facelift of the previous one that has been on sale since 2004, though some pretty major revisions have been made.
Let's start with the engines, which offer the biggest changes. There's now a 1-liter TSI available under the bonnet of this thing with 102 PS of output. It's the same one they just installed on the Polo and the weird thing about it is that it has only three cylinders but does the job of a 1.6L 8V. Ford installed an almost identical engine into its Transit Connect recently, the 1-liter EcoBoost with 100 hp.

The 2015 Caddy's engine range will also include a 1.2 TSI four-cylinder with 84 PS and a 1.4 TSI with 125 PS. Both should belong to the latest family of VW engines and will be equipped with BlueMotion fuel saving tech.

The diesel engines have not been detailed, though Volkswagen did say there will be four of them with outputs ranging from 75 to 150 PS. "The basis for the four TDI diesel versions is always a two-liter four cylinder engine," VW says. However, we expect the base 75 PS engine to be another 3-cylinder one, the 1.4 TDI they just launched on the Polo and Fabia.

The 2015 Caddy looks a little bit like the new Passat from the outside. The front bumper, grille and headlights are designed with the same horizontal lines that make it look wider than it actually is. Styling changes continue around the boxy back end with a new bumper and taillights.

The changes are more visible inside, where a brand new dashboard has been installed, offering better ergonomics. The nav system from the Polo facelift sits at the bottom, followed by climate control buttons. As you can see from the photos, the 2015 Caddy can even feel like a premium car, thanks to a fake red wood insert of a sober alcantara seat finish.

The new Caddy will be launched in Germany at the end of June with orders being taken starting in March. In all likelihood, that means we'll see the 2015 van at the Geneva Motor Show. Prices will start at €14,785, but more premium features than ever will be available, so it could get pricey.
