Just the iconic Bonneville received not one, but three new special edition versions, Triumph shows at 2014 Intermot a new Street Triple model, the RX. However, despite the strong Daytona 675 styling influences, the bike is definitely not a new machine in the Brits roster, but rather a re-interpretation of existing hardware. It looks like Triumph is happy the “cool factor” card for now probably not really having something truly new to offer in this moment.
The 2015 Triumph Street Triple RX was upgraded with the tail section of the Daytona 675 supersport machine, while some of the color accents hark back to its racey 675R version. All in all a rather pleasant-looking machine, if the trademark bulbous dual headlight cluster is not making you stir away from it. Cool Diablo Red rims, a fiery red subframe and radiator shrouds complement the sporty seat cowl, belly pan and fly screen, elements which tell the same sporty story.

Triumph chose to “re-tune” the Daytona 657 triple-cylinder engine, which now produces 106 horsepower and 68 Nm (50 lb-ft) of torque and is mated to a 6-speed, close-ratio gearbox equipped with a quicksihfter. The engine sits in a twin-beam aluminium frame rolling with fully-adjustable KYB suspensions, and the Nissin dual-rotor front brakes are complemented by a Brembo caliper in the rear, both with switchable ABS.

No price or availability announced yet for the 2015 Triumph Street Triple RX, but we can expect it to arrive in dealerships around the world this year. No word on the 250cc-class Triumph bikes so far, and it looks like Hinkley is still considering the economic success of such machines, rumor has it.
