The smallest car Toyota offers for the US market (not counting the Scion iQ) has recently received a facelift, or better say, a “facelower”, because as with any other automaker, the Yaris now has a large sad mouth. It almost resembles a carp...
And that’s probably the biggest visual change, to which you can also add some new rims and lights to the exterior modifications list. Inside, you’ll find a sportier dashboard along with a selection of slightly better/softer materials and premium-er seats.

Mechanically, the new Yaris brags about a more rigid body structure and better sound insulations which along with some redesigned aerodynamic details help create a quieter ride.

Power comes from the same 1.5-liter VVT-i engine mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox, depending on the grade you chose. It makes 106 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 103 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm. The hybrid powertrain offered in Europe is still nowhere to be found on the list.

As for the features you get, the base L version comes with air conditioning, 60/40 split rear seats, slightly improved electric power steering, power windows with auto feature for the driver, tilt steering wheel, power door locks, daytime running lights, 15-inch steelies with plastic covers and a 6.1-inch Entune audio system with multiple connectivity and six speakers.

Step up a notch and the Yaris LE will add cruise control, power mirrors, leather trimmed steering wheel with shortcut buttons, silver interior accents, 15-inch alloy wheels and remote keyless entry.

For more urban-coolness, you can get the SE version that adds projector headlamps, LED daytime running light, integrated foglamps, a rear spoiler, gloss black and machined 16-inch alloy wheels, leather trimmed steering and shifter knob, sport meter and tachometer as well as special fabrics and gloss black accents.

And to top that off, the SE also comes equipped with a sport-tuned suspension, now having a solid stabilizer bar, and four-wheel disc brakes that are one-inch larger at the front.

Prices start at $14,845 for the basic 3-door version with the manual gearbox and go up to $17,340 for the 5-door automatic one. Check out the full price list bellow.
