2015 Toyota Aygo X-Wave HD Wallpapers: Barrel of Fun

We had an encounter with Toyota's new Aygo, but our test car had a summerish twist about it. That's right, a retractable canvas roof that promises to make city rides fun and more desirable. Everyone, meet the Aygo X-Wave. That roof also gives it a bit of an adventurous flavor, which means city driving can be more fun in this incarnation of Toyota's entry-level offering.

Sure, there's only so much fun you can have with 69 hp, but this roof teaches you that a smile doesn't necessarily have to come from the engine compartment. In fact, it doesn't even have to come from you. For instance, it may arrive from pedestrians and other drivers, as we noticed during our review.

After ten years on the European market and two subtle facelifts, the Aygo reached its second generation and to celebrate that, Toyota adopted bold styling cues for the exterior. The move was a logic one since the A-segment is more coagulated than it was a decade ago. With rivals like the Peugeot 108 and the Citroen C1, Aygo had to look different and put the emphasis on the fun factor.

Before going any further, please note that the Aygo X-Wave is just like any other Aygo in terms of personality. What makes the car a little bit unique is the textile roof that turns the car intro a (sort of) cabriolet. In fact, the retractable roof is more like the one employed by the Fiat 500c, although not that fancy. Still, a good way to make your urban trip better.

Speaking of the urban environment, you have to know that this is Aygo's ultimate playground. The Aygo X-Wave sees the city with the same eyes a child sees Disneyland. Thus, it has all the features a city car should possess, at least on paper. The 1.0-liter banger under its hood might be small, but it comes with a fiery personality. The automated X-shift gearbox is half responsible for the engine's grumpy sound, but it can be submissive once the driver starts using the paddle shifters.

Enter the cabin, and you'll be greeted by the nicely shaped front seats. That's a sign that the magic happens there, but we're going to give you this: you'll find most of the fun stuff behind the wheel. While the front seats are comfy and offer excellent back support, those seated in the back seat might not get the same feeling. Also, don't expect a very generous boot but it will do for a quick shopping session at the mall or the supermarket.

All in all, the package Toyota came up with in the Aygo is a decent all-rounder for city tasks. The Aygo X-Wave will also perform in a satisfying manner outside the city as long as you don't expect too much from it. The fun factor is present, but there's more to read and other HD shots to see in our 2015 Toyota Aygo X-Wave review.
