2015 Toyota Aygo x-pure and x-cite Available to Order from £11,295

Toyota’s city car in entry-level guise may start from just £7,995 in the United Kingdom while the range-topping Aygo x-clusiv is £11,395. But if it’s a certain specialness you’re searching for in your next city dweller, the 2015 Toyota Aygo x-cite and x-pure variants might float your boat.

In the blue corner, the Toyota Aygo x-cite is offered in exclusive blue Cyan Splash metallic paint. The visual treatment applied to the exterior is matched by plenty cabin trim elements and a plethora of gloss black. The latter color is applied to the front fascia’s X, A-pillar extensions, 15-inch alloy wheels, and rear bumper.

It’s a fashionable car, and the striking visual contrast is certain to attract attention both in the city and on the open road. For greater impact, customers are offered a black-painted roof and rear pillars for an additional £395 over the £11,395 OTR price. In the white corner, the x-pure is finished in White Flash teamed with white alloy wheels and silver-painted bodywork bits and bobs. On the inside, the x-pure boasts silver-white finish trim and grey fabric seats.

Only the chromatic difference separates the x-cite from the x-pure, be it the three or five-door model. On the technical front, both models get a 1-liter VVT-i three-banger paired to a five-speed manual. The x-shift 5-speed automated manual is available for £1,100. If driving dynamics and fuel economy is what you’re after, you can find out more about how the drivetrain is like from our review of the rag top Aygo x-wave.

As you would expect from the Toyota Aygo x-cite and x-pure, these UK-bound special edition models are generously equipped from the get-go. Touchscreen infotainment with satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, a reversing camera, and air conditioning are the highlights.

Customers also get heated mirrors, leather on the steering wheel and shifter and a tire pressure warning as standard. Safety? The Aygo has that as well, courtesy of six airbags, anti-lock brakes with emergency brake distribution and a stability control system.
