2015 Suzuki TU250X Is a Sweet Retro Jewel

The 2015 Suzuki TU250X will definitely find a place in this week’s Retro Motorcycle Roundup. It brings back the classic styling of the 60’s road bikes, with plenty of chromed out details and packing both entry-level worthiness and a great fun-factor.

Light and easily maneuverable, the new TU250X makes a great beginner bike, while it can still be a very sweet replacement for your car or big-bore bike when commuting in warm weather. This nifty small-displacement beast is powered by a 250cc air-cooled 4-stroke engine which has been tuned to deliver fast throttle response and plenty of low-end torque to be fun in a variety of scenarios.

It comes with a 5-speed transmission, chain final drive, telescopic forks and uses dual coil over spring shocks in the rear, with a single-disc front brake and a drum one in the rear. Believe it or not, this bike is equipped with the Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve fuel-injection system and digital ignition.

With a 770mm (30.3 in) seat, riding this machine should be a reassuring experience even for riders with a shorter inseam, especially as it weighs only 148 kg (326 lbs). Suzuki loaded a 12-liter (3.2 US gal) on the 2014 TU250X, and even though no mpg figure was announced, we believe the refueling stops with this baby will be rather rare.

The bike will makes it to US dealers this month, but no California-compliant version was announced. The bike is only available in Metallic Mystic Silver/Glass Sparkle Black and can be yours for $4,399 (€3,170).
