2015 Subaru WRX Driven Like a Rally Car

This year's LA Auto Show was all about the Subaru WRX. This thing was revealed with a lot of smoke and mirrors. This thing was previewed by a sexy concept last year but falls somewhat short of that design. Still, Subaru talks about all kinds of suspension upgrades and new gearboxes, plus the all-new boxer.
Just in case there are still people who dream of being rally drivers, Subaru has released this cool clip of the new WRX being driven on a dusty gravel road. Because nothing says "I'm the boss" quite like blowing dust in your rivals' faces.

The 2-liter turbo engine is derived from the one in the Toyobaru but Subaru used their own direct injection system plus a turbocharger. The result is a low-slung 268 horsepower. The transmission options are also interesting, a new manual and a CVT, which strangely is the one you actually want because it has that typical Subaru RWD biased feel.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
