Every car nut gets really excited when it starts to snow because the freshly laid powder is perfect for some sideways action. It's easy on the tires, not to mention a lot of fun.
The owner of this brand new 2015 Subaru WRX probably didn't get a lot of snow drifting done in his car because it's a brand new model, only available since last summer. Not surprisingly, he managed to crash it into a light post while drifting in an empty parking lot.
The WRX, which is worth at least $25,000 smashes hard and damages its front bumper, fender and probably the suspension. Now he'll need to make a trip to the repair shop and probably have a long discussion with his insurance company.
Another thing worth noting is that the WRX has a heavy wide window tint and it's an overcast day, so the driver probably couldn't see the post until it was too late. And is he wearing sunglasses?

How did it happen?
Simple, really, he panicked. Drifting on snow requires different skills than everyday driving. Braking, like he tried to do just before the crash, doesn't really work. According to the description in the video, the driver was doing about 40 km/h (25 mph) in second gear. He should have powered out of the drift because there simply wasn't enough space to stop the car.Another thing worth noting is that the WRX has a heavy wide window tint and it's an overcast day, so the driver probably couldn't see the post until it was too late.
