With just a few weeks until the unveil of the car it's based on, the Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG Coupe C217 is still getting tested in the warmer parts of Europe, or in this case, somewhere near Barcelona, Spain.
Despite still wearing some rather heavy camouflage, these are pretty much our most revealing spy photos of the model yet, as the car was shot from close range and features enough details to make up more of what's underneath the “body armor”.

As we mentioned before, the front bumper is expected to feature a similar design to the one from the E 63 AMG W212 facelift, with the stylized “A” featuring wider air scoops for the radiators behind it.

Set to sport the same twin-turbocharged, 5.5-liter V8 from the S 63 AMG W222, the 585 hp and 900 Nm (664 lb ft) of torque should enable the Coupe to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start in 4.3-seconds for the rear-wheel drive version and just 3.9 seconds for the 4Matic version, thanks to a slightly lower weight compared with the sedan.

This would also be the first time for a number of generations that the coupe is actually less heavy than the S-Class sedan it's based on. Expect the 63 AMG variant to be unveiled a few months after the “civilian” S-Class Coupe bows down at the upcoming North American Auto Show, with the 2014 Geneva Motor show in March being our best bet.
