Star Motorcycles announce the 2015 Raider Bullet Cowl, an all-new version of their 113-cubic-inch (1,854cc) v-twin monsters. The 2015 Raider Bullet Cowl retains the menacing loos of the base-model Raider, but adds a dash of more rebellious styling and improved comfort for riding that extra mile. Or hundreds of miles…
The Raider remains faithful cu the custom chopper tradition, yet with a modern touch. The yoke comes with a 6-degree angle which adds to the 33-degree rake of the fork for killer looks, but which doesn’t impact handling. The bike has an aluminium cast frame and swingarm which is lighter than you’d expect, while providing excellent torsional rigidity for precise cornering.

On the rider comfort side, the 46mm fork and hidden monoshock have plenty of travel to smooth out the road irregularities, while the plus seating and improved ergonomics offer a better riding stance even if the trip takes you far beyond the state line. The rider’s seat is 27.4“ (696 mm) above street level and its narrower profile in the front will allow even shorter riders to get firm contact with the ground when stopped.

Air-cooled might still rules

Still faithful to the old-school bike-making tradition, the 2015 Raider Bullet Cowl is powered by an air-cooled OVH v-twin engine with 4 valves per cylinder. Some might say that 2015 is a bit late for pushrods, especially when paired with dual spark plugs, state-of-the-art electronic fuel injection and precise fuel management thanks to the modern throttle position sensors and all.

However, it looks like the combination is a successful one, as the 2015 Raider Bullet Cowl manages to retain a hefty dose of retro vibe and pair it with updated technologies and the traditional, impeccable Star paint job.

The 2015 Raider Bullet Cowl tips the scales at 734 lb (332 kg) wet, and comes with a 4.2 gal (16-liter) tank which should deliver a decent range until refueling is needed. The 2015 Raider Bullet Cowl arrives in stores this month with a price of $15,390 (US).
