After seeing multiple spyshots of the revamped Porsche 911, it is now time to take a closer look at the 2015 Porsche Cayenne facelift. The German SUV was recently caught by our photographers during a testing session in lapland, with some of the camo having disappeared.
Just like in the case of the 2014 Porsche Panamera facelift, the Cayenne will get a set of moderate exterior changes. The spied prototype displays a front apron with a bit of angular styling - the same design trend we’ve seen on the spied 911 facelift. What’s more the bumper now features a set of LED daytime running lights.
At the rear, the taillights are still partially covered and, by the looks of it, the clusters could finally ditch their massive look, adopting a sleeker design. In addition, the tailpipes seems to be different.
Nonetheless, we are talking about Porsche here, so the most important changes will be hidden from sight. The Cayenne is expected to follow the Panamera’s path and so the 2015 Cayenne S will probably lose its naturally-aspirated V8 engine for a new twin-turbo V6 delivering 420 hp from 3 liters of displacement.
Moreover, the current Cayenne S Hybrid should be replaced by a 2015 Cayenne S E-Hybrid. The powerplant comprises of the same supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that, together with the plug-in electric side of the deal, delivers a 416 hp while promissing to offer up to 75 mpg (3.1 l/100 km).
The Cayenne Diesel could also ditch the current 240 hp V6 unit for a more adequate 300 hp unit that was already introduced on the Panamera Diesel in Europe.
At the top of the range, the Cayenne Turbo S could follow the 2014 Panamera Turbo S’ lead, offering 570 hp.
The spied prototype also reveals an interior that doesn’t seem to have received any changes. Nevertheless, the Germans should bring some updated features.
